found out just today that the first guy to actually get a law proposed for DST from his complaints, William Willett, gave as part of his reasons that he was upset at having his golf rounds cut short at dusk. imagine being such a fucking golf dork that you insist everyone else move the clock around so you get to play longer...
every year, when we lose an hour in Spring like this, I think about how this shouldn't be a thing at all. how all the data I've seen shows it has no benefit and causes problems instead. we don't need permanent DST. we need it to be cancelled entirely.
also golfers can go sink in a water trap.
Suggestion: We can keep DST, but the trade-off is that golf courses are replaced with affordable, livable housing for the people who need it most. And also we get rid of DST anyways.
