Recent news about Diablo 4 and the dev leaks about how they're expecting to full crunch to finish it...and it doesn't come out for several more months. Any crunch is morally indefensible, months of it is criminal.
Corporations abuse their devs because they know they can burn them out and hire new ones. They also rely on gamers' attachment to franchises and names to keep them buying products that are morally indefensible.
If you think working more than forty hours a week for months to meet an arbitrary ship date is bad, it doesn't matter if the game is a famous property, or even if the game ends up being good (it won't, because crunch wrecks any quality work, but even if it was), you can't buy the game.
Its that simple, if you buy it, you support the practices and company that made it. If you buy it, they keep abusing the devs because they know there is no repercussions.
Don't fucking support crunch culture.
