and today is Bandcamp Friday. that means we get all the dough from Bandcamp purchases.

"this year I lose my mind" is not just another album. It is a statement of moving forward. From this album onward, I'm doing my odd little art the way I want to do it and I'm willfully shedding the insecurities that made me want to stick within the safe, internet-friendly realm of remixes, tributes, etc. over the years. It is time to accept that I've really come into my own as a known artist and built my own base and I no longer need to pull up to other people's things.

track 1 is "points at head", a meditation on the joys and terrors of being literally the only one inside your head making all creative and life decisions.

track 2 is "cmon", a comforting and smooth invitation to join me and embrace the change in style, one of the slickest things I've produced, too.

track 3 is "dream smooth" where I pull out the comforting rug from under you and oops we're all sweaty rave club shit now. 3 songs in one, and it's only the first time I'm going to do that on this album. maybe the loudest song I've ever made, not sure.

track 4 is "magic loop", the delirious and catchy feeling of being swirled up into a witch's cauldron of breakbeats and original melodic sounds.

track 5 is "cold rock it", a trippy journey to a new world of drum n' bass that matches the vibes of early jungle with the technical prowess of mid 2000s rnb. wait I mean dnb. there's definitely not any rnb in there. right?

track 6 is "t.m.o.", an angry journey through the relationship between artist and patron, creative and boss, musician and industry. probably one of my favorite songs I've made, I really tried to earn every second of your time here.

track 7 is "pastel lands", me dropping you off in a calming, colorful and hazy y2k wonderland and wishing you well.
