Welcome to the Cervine Songtime, wherein I share a jam a day. (Might not actually be daily.) I really like music and talking about it! Expect: all sorts of things.

Safe and Sound - Capital Cities

Song

I normally don't watch music videos. Not for any particular reason! I just... don't. Perhaps if there is a reason, it's because I forget they exist, with a dash of: most of my daily listening doesn't have a music video at all (because it's a soundtrack or what-have-you). So it's unsurprising I went years and years loving this song without having seen the video.

When I did finally see it, I immediately cried. Something about the different cultures and times all dancing together really gets to me. I don't want to dwell too much on that point, though. Perhaps I'll explore it in a different post sometime.

This song is one of those that uses the right instruments and beep boops that activate dopamine release. I don't know why, but if you find anything with similar sounds I'll almost guaranteed latch on to it. By latch on to it, I mean listen to it on loop for 8 hours straight.

**Bonus track:** This excellent remix of the song.
