i took a break from working on firedog last week to try some nextfest games and think about qol and the market.
i played a lot of 500 caliber contractz and it was pretty insightful to compare how i'm handling movement versus them. i don't think i want that level of uncontrollable, but there's some elements there i'd like to poach, like making your backflip height based on your momentum. i will probably change the hold to jump behavior so that it cancels your initial jump and gives you a longer skid to make storage easier
i have a list of things for my next demo but it includes big keywords like "fire extinguisher" and "ice surfaces" that are intimidating me. i'd like to have this next level and a boss done by august so i can submit to sage or something.
