Obscure specific Japanese history opinion, but given how much of a hardass Kajiwara no Kagetoki was, I don't know what it says that Isawa Iekage was highly recommended by him to be Steward of the North.
On the other hand: Iekage was a bureaucrat, so maybe that says it all.
