That was a combination between one having local dimming zones and the color profile being set for astropad instead of sidecar, which was promptly fixed
Thank you. It was the result of me being fed up with turning things into a doohicky and just getting something I would know would be nice.
This is rad. Is the Mac still able to dissipate heat okay on its side like that?
Since this is designed with convection in mind, I assumed there was a chance. However, this thing is mostly copper heat sink inside (it is deceptively heavy, you can one hit kill someone with this thing if you were motivated to). It's a real wacky feeling going from a thermally insulated macbook air to the absolute dead opposite.
I double checked online if this would have an impact, and it was reported that it made no observable difference in performance or fan speed by someone who stress tested it. I put some rubber feet on the bottom and called it a day. I'm debating on putting thermally conductive pads between the chassis and aluminum glorified tablet stands for shits and giggles.
