hi. i'm hanging out. i like fire emblem and comics and stories and women. i don't post very often.
i am over 18
quite simple: score once with jecht shot then run out the clock hiding behind your own goal where the NPCs can't reach you
The fucked-up thing is that Blitzball is actually pretty fun once you get the hang of it (it's absolutely something you'll want to look up a guide about though since a large part of it is recruiting new players)
I couldn't afford a PS2 at the time! I basically missed out on that entire era in console games.
ohh that makes sense! tbh I completely assumed you'd played it judging from GITCL's whole vibe
That said I won the tournament but it was so confusing to me I'm only like 20% certain at most that it's not just scripted to make that happen naturally?
nah, you can lose. the only difference is that one cutscene where wakka is carrying the oversized trophy
There's also an small prize cache of items if you win, but it's hardly formative.
I love Blitzball, but I get why people don't. (That being said, no bully blitzball. My deeply flawed but earnest son is doing their best.)
I think it's very cool that the big important tournament is the tutorial, and the random matches with NPCs are unlocked after your emotional investment is done
God I just could not give enough fucks to try to understand this game at all the first time I played FFX and decided to just never touch it again once I didn't need to anymore.
I did not want to be a blitzball when I grew up.
I've been playing FFX since 2008 and it was only in march of this year that I bothered to properly learn Blitzball (for an achievement/reward) and it took a lot of watching youtube videos explaining it to me before I understood how the different mechanics actually work
