Having some mixed emotions today

The more that I love art and being creative, the more I hate online spaces.

I’m not saying this here because artist alley opened. It’s honestly a really cool program, and I pray it’s successful. Don’t be surprised if you see me use it.

I only say this here because cohost is the last place I feel like is safe. Where you can have an artistic endeavor online and not feel exploited or like you’re lining the pockets of hateful people.

Just having a lot of thoughts about the book promotion this past weekend. The pride I felt doing it, and the gross feelings I’m getting about sharing my webcomic on tumblr and webtoon this week. Do I stomach the transphobia, censorship, and theft on those platforms to share what I do with the friends, readers, and queer folks there? SHOULD I have to? I don’t know.

What I know is that I love what I do. And I love the community I’ve been able to find. Wish I had answers for all my other feelings, but at least I’ve got something.
