I need to finally check out IDW Sonic. I like a lot of the new characters I've seen and it looks like its a fun ride. Also, yeah, this kid's going places =u=
It's good. It's REALLY good. I highly recommend it, honestly. They're doing some interesting stuff - particularly with characters not in any game!
I'd also recommend giving "The Murder Of Sonic The Hedgehog" a look on Steam. It's basically the same writers/artists, and it gives a good feel for the character dynamics. Plus, it's super fun. And free!
I have a theory in regards to adaptations of massive IPs that, "if the characters that are newly introduced and not taken from the original IP, don't stand out as well (hopefully better) than the original IPs characters, it's not going to work". and the bit about doing interesting stuff, especially with characters not in the games, makes me even more interested! OuO
Ooh, I'd seen "The Murder of Sonic The Hedgehog" recommended before and watched a bit of a playthrough I never got back to, but I'd never heard it was the same writers from the IDW series. Innnnteresting ^u^
Absolutely.
For varying definitions of party, no less!
Massive, massive fan of IDWverse Sonic. Loved it when Sega declared it canon. Out of all the new characters, I am a massive Surge/Kit / Mavericks fan. Absolutely big stan for their storyline and impressed how they didn't just turn into another predictable frenemy-rival-that-thaws-over-time like older chars. Expected them to stay baddies to be fair and then came this issue. Seriously. I'd got money on Kitsunami 'turning the tide' for Surge but not quite like this <3
