Something I'm really appreciating about Cohost is the lack of numbered likes. Like, it's nice not thinking or obsessing about how many likes you get on a post? Likes are a very useful shortcut for "I read this" and a good way to give immediate positive feedback to the author, but I do also wonder sometimes if we really need them
I've been feeling this as well, it's so good to not be concerned or even aware of the number of likes. I still appreciate getting notifications on likes but I'm not fussing about how many. It's nice to see that people appreciate something, and I enjoy being able to acknowledge that on others' posts as well.
Same as on Discord or in a messaging app, I like it as a way to communicate "I enjoyed this, and I don't have anything to add".
