So it looks like a reboot of Highlander is actually finally going to happen, starring Henry Cavill.
Now, Cavill's a good actor and I don't think he's wrong for the part per se. To be honest, I don't even know if he's even going to be playing Connor MacLeod in this version.
But my dream casting for this role is and has always been James McAvoy and I'll tell you why,
- Actually Scottish (who hardly ever gets to use his native accent)
- Skilled at different accents
- Great actor with serious range
- Kinda weedy looking but still a terrific physical performer
- Has proven himself perfectly capable of doing action
- Especially good in roles that require him to be charismatic and approachable but still enigmatic
