Katamari is fundamentally a worse game when ported to non-playstation consoles. Dualshock controllers have their joysticks laid out symmetrically and it makes controlling the katamari really intuitive. I played on the switch and it sucked. I mean that's a little harsh, it's still katamari, still an awesome game. But having one joystick up at the top of the controller and the other at the bottom just ruins the natural balance & makes it hard to be immersed in the game. For me at least.
I actually want to try it on pc with my steam controller and see how that works. The two touch pads are symmetrical with each other, but on the top of the controller instead of the bottom. So if that's intuitive for me i'll know my theory is right and it's not me just being cranky and nostalgic for the ps2.
