magically reanimated skeletons will naturally try to find coverings for themselves, such as large shields or tapestries, as they find they are used to being inside things and do not typically like to be exposed. slimes are simply the most common willing subjects for this behavior, as this suits their gregarious behavior.

I don't understand, why doesn't the skeleton just wear the slime? Skeletons are already used to being covered in damp, sticky human goo as it is.
And thus the story of beautiful friendship between shy re-animated skeleton and gregarious dungeon slime is created.
I have it pictured in my head, all chibi-like, and I am sad I cannot draw it.
