was a minecraft capture the flag server. I don't remember what it was called but it was unique among ctf servers (at least the ones I could find during middle school) in that it allowed you to place and break blocks in the map.

There's something about modding games to do things they aren't supposed to do that gives rise to genuinely brilliant game design. A huge chunk of popular multiplayer games have their origins in a mod of a different game.

Seeing several posts about MOBAs got me thinking. A lot of modern mobas still have a ton of warcraft dna to them. But the core of the moba setup doesn't need to come from warcraft. There are any number of games that could be modded into a moba. Particularly I want to see a space station 13 moba. Other possibilities include csgo moba. Minecraft moba (this definitely exists). Platform fighter moba based on rivals of aether or fraymakers. Or MUGEN would probably work too. A crpg based moba would probably rule.

Space station 13 is built in an engine made for online play, it already has a ton of interesting character classes, and it has some sort character progression during matches, which is why I'm most interested in it as a possible moba base.
