I'm not a real robot, but I have a real face!

The first obvious problem is the near-complete lack of artist credit.
The second problem I think is especially highlighted by the link breaking and showing only posts from back in 2015 when opened in app: it's kind of mean-spirited and elitist. I think in the best case the blog can be seen as a kind of outsider art gallery for the medium of MtG card design. But reading the added captions it's hard to ignore that one of the main purposes of it is to mock people who make cards like this. I struggle with this a lot because I do really enjoy seeing these sorts of cards. I love the aesthetic of them, I love the fresh takes on game design.
I've described before on this blog my love of a particular kind and era of Minecraft modding where you could install a buch of Naruto and Star Wars and dirt tools and huge TNT mods and completely wreck your game; to me it's a very similar appeal.
I don't like feeling like I'm laughing at people making an earnest attempt to create things for a game they love. And I can't really avoid that that's what I'm doing on some level. I don't know.
