TagOfTheDay
@TagOfTheDay

On Cohost, tags are the main way to find content from people you don't already follow!

The best way to find enjoy new posts from folks you don't already follow is to Search for tags that interest you, and then click bookmark this tag to add it to your bookmarked tag feed.

But cohost users are annoyingly clever and cute, and they often make annoyingly clever and cute tags, with the result that some things are hard to find if you don't know where to look!

Suggest some tags!

  1. Use the ask feature to suggest a tag that you like. It can be any tag you enjoy!
  2. Say a little about why it's cool. (Just a sentence is fine)
  3. Optionally, include one or two users or posts that are a good example of why you like it
  4. If the tag has a lot of NSFW posts or content that folks might want to be warned about, give a heads up
  5. I'll "answer" one tag per day1

For example:

Everyone should bookmark #photography because photography is a delightful medium and there are many good and fun photo folks on cohost who take cool pictures like this one by @clempics.

Enjoy suggested tags!

  • Browse the tag of the day
  • If you like it, bookmark it!
  • Follow cool new posters
  • Don't post off-topic things to the tag of the day2
  • If you don't like the tag, don't harass people about it. Just go to your settings page and "Filter" the tag to muffle posts with it.3

  1. Post frequency not guaranteed

  2. Obviously you should use the tag if you have stuff that's relevant! Just don't swamp people who follow that tag with unrelated stuff, that seems like it would be annoying.

  3. If you see stuff that violates the cohost rules, you can report it to staff. You're also welcome to yell at me about it if you want to.

If you're reading this on Cohost, this is me inviting you to please comment to be like "here's where you have factual inaccuracy / are probably conceptually wrong!" because this is my working theory and I'm sure I've messed it up somewhere. Putting a "read more" because it's kinda long.

We should make a Language of Flowers kinda thing, but with soup. Like:

Chowder: I wish to congratulate you
--Clam: regarding your recent actions
----New England Style: on getting proper recognition
----Manhattan Style: avoiding the consequences
