This year has marked a significant change in how I've been playing games. I made the not so difficult decision to sell my NES, SNES, and Genesis games. As I looked at my shelf full of games I found that had not been playing ANY of them for the past 10 years or so.
I took a deep breath and thought out a plan. Go and sell the games and use the money to pay bills, and start to get other things I find are more my priority. This plan worked pretty well, and I made some pretty big money off of my games. I did get questioned on why didn't I try harder to get more money off of what I had, however I made the point that I got my money's worth out of each game. When I bought these games it was the early 2000's before the market went to crap. I think the most I paid for a game was $25.
I have flashcarts for all of my systems and everything was hunky dory... then an opportunity came, thanks to a fellow bird site and Cohost follower who was selling their MiSter... and me being in a more money than sense mode decided to take the plunge. I don't regret it. Being able to consolidate systems and clean up my entertainment area upstairs has been very satisfying.
I don't plan on selling my systems or flashcarts or import games. They all remain as a backup in the event something goes south, but I am surprised at myself on how I opted to change so much about how I play games in such a short amount of time.
