People not here saying "no one is talking about current events on Eggbug (and that's bad)" doesn't bother me nearly as much as people who are here saying "no one is talking about current events on Eggbug (and that's good)". If I thought people here were completely using this as a blanket fort to ignore reality I would not want to be around here another second, that shit is depressing.
"People talking/yelling and having opinions about Current Events" is not a social media thing, it is fucking normal and has been a major social experience since humans figured out how to make noises that other humans could interpret. "No politics/religion, mind your own business" is bourgeois in extreme. That's white America in the 1950s.
