First thing i tested when i spotted this: what happens if you uncheck everything?
I think it would be extremely funny if that just gave you a blank notifications screen, but the alternative (what actually happens) is much more useful!
When everything is unchecked like this, it shows all types again. That closes the amount of clicks between everything enabled and nothing-but-one SIGNIFICANTLY, which is very nice if you're the kind of person who would want to change it often (or even just occasionally! low friction is good)
Additionally, the filters are saved (it's per-account not per-page, but that hardly matters)
So:
- If you prefer to keep a consistent set of filters, that's easy! Set and forget.
- If you want to keep everything on, but sometimes there's too many likes or shares or whatever, I'd say keep everything checked and then individually disable whichever one is getting crowded as needed.
- Alternatively, you can keep everything UNchecked and then, when you want to specifically look back through one type (comments, replies, and follows seem the most likely) just turn that filter on.
Dunno if this will help much more than just playing around yourself, but i like the system and i like talking about systems! so here's Post™ for you!
