heres my pitch for pvp soulslike, extended from a comment reply on the other one: l4d with loadout progression and heavy on gimmicky covenants like ds2. you run through maps and unlock things by winning. invaders are guaranteed to appear but still spawn somewhat randomly. being a cooperator is an upgrade path, being an invader is an upgrade path, all the covenants are upgrade paths, as well as unlockables (not grindable loot) tied to the maps themselves. once you unlock something you can use it no matter which mode you are in. perhaps large maps can support multiple teams of invaders competing to take out the cooperators. no stat/level builds, just your custom loadouts, whatever the covenants let you do, and no need to grind consumables
i love both sides of invasion pvp but dueling gets old fast for me and sometimes you will want to play in a specific spot and not be able to get any connections there
