im reminded of how less people are going deaf as they age partially because we didn't send them off to war or construction or industry without earplugs
consequently work had to become yet more dangerous to keep attrition at a suitable level so as not to jam the gears with proles who are out of work and have ideas about that.
forced to ask how much "aging" is specifically the accumulated effect of decades of undetected subtle post viral syndrome due to being constantly exposed to biohazards at work. forced to grapple with the knowledge that shitty air and disease prone living situations are acts of genocidal war, that employers without unlimited sick leave are cool with killing their employees at random if it is too inconvenient to not, and that this is the vast majority of all work places, that you cant reasonably expect better than depraved indifference to your well being from an employer
