The thing about the anti-mask doctors is they love to argue about how effective the vaccines are (for people without underlying health conditions) and how effective one-way masking is (for people without underlying health conditions, if the mask is high quality, if it fits correctly, in an ideal environment), and how you really don't need to worry about COVID anymore (unless you have an underlying health condition) so then they push for ending mask mandates
but they can never argue against me saying that I need people to wear masks in large group settings around me, especially during cold months, for me to be safe. Because I have underlying health conditions. And sure, they're a doctor, but they're not a neurologist, and they're not my neurologist, and if they tried to claim I shouldn't be so concerned, then they are going against the CDC, going against a neurologist, and dispensing unethical medical advice that could get them to lose their license.
So nothing they say can ever actually alleviate my concerns because their ethical code forces them to avoid saying anything that could possibly actually address my concerns as someone with underlying health conditions. So all we have is me saying what I believe with the information available to me through the CDC and my own doctors is what is necessary for me to be safe in an indoor space with a certain amount of people, doing certain activities, at a certain time year. And all they can say is that other people should not care. Ultimately all they can argue is that they do not want to include me. That they do not care about including me. They can try to pretend that is not what they are saying but they know it would be unethical to make any sort of argument which says I can be included even without what I am saying is necessary for me to be safe. Ultimately the only argument they can make is one that is explicitly for my exclusion and not for my safety.
