when it comes to the question "is fascism here" the primary issue is not whether or not you are strictly correct or even ideologically aligned but whether you are a dangerous obstacle by virtue of being insensate to living in a place where the streets are paved with blood money
there is not a big knife lever labeled "fascism on/off" in the white house. if you are waiting for a switch to be thrown and The Fascism To Begin, you will never see the death that you live among and you will be useless when the contradictions intensify and things get harder for more people
