Look, I'm all for the rich paying their fair share in taxes, but it seems like it's easy for a lot of people to forget that the slogan "tax the rich" is a corruption of "eat the rich," which comes from the Jean-Jacques Rousseau quote, "When the people have nothing more to eat, they will eat the rich."
In 2022, just shy of 13% of households in America were considered food insecure by the USDA. That's more than 1 in 10 people. We're way past just taxing the rich.
