i am instantly in love with the protagonists diy occultist father. just, you know. the kind of guy who putters around the atelier on weekends. maybe gets together for rituals and beers with his buddies he met on r/wizdads every so often
and how everything i loved about it is something i consider too punishing to bother with today. i try to replay it every so often but theres usually enough grinding to make me quit before that one particularly harrowing early game transit to that town up north, you know?
but its boring now because i know how the game works. i didnt, the first time around. the magic was testing the limits of my party and probing outward from each new road stop carefully. got paralyzed, oh holy shit the paralysis monsters come in packs abort abort, go back to town and get a ton of the curative to get through, etc etc. i think this game and ffl2 were equally appealing to me in many aspects, but im pretty sure i never finished ffl2 until i replayed it later as an adult. i used more faqs because internet isnt by the minute these days
