So I gave up on the original around the point where I was trying to train crossbow dwarves and couldn't figure out how to designate which direction the target range should be used in, and to only use bone bolts for training, and what the seasonal training schedule should be... is some of that tedium resolved in the Steam version?
I wish I could give a firm answer, but I am mostly vicariously living Dorf through friends. I've heard it's a lot easier to get them to do what you want in Steam version with the M+Kb over the original 290 keybinds to remember.
