On the one hand, yeah, totally agree. On the other hand, the presidency does exist to look more important than it really is. Even though the person in that office can in fact exercise great powers when they choose to. The real control is in the courts, where agency cloaks itself in the veil of law. In the heads and highly ranked members of bureaucratic agencies, and international bureaucracies, and corporate bureaucracies. Who made the decision that MasterCard would stop taking sex worker money if they knew it was from sex work? That person's agency, justified as profit motivated though clearly not, is what concerns me most. And the others like them, the decision makers nobody much questions because they are distracted thinking the president is who matters, and that they could influence the president's decisions.
I think organizing among debtors, like the Debt Collective/Strike Debt folks are doing, and worker organizing are the way we make things better. The medical side is sensitive to both organizing among the hospital workers (nurses and admin both; in my experience most of them resent having to deny people care for money reasons, they got into hospital work to give people care), and those with medical debt (the insurance industry is dependent on squeezing those medical debts). If you owe the bank ten thousand, you have a problem; if you owe them ten million, the bank has the problem. If you owe the bank ten billion, you own the bank. Banks, in the current political economy, are the spice: control them and you control the universe.
certainly i know and try to remind myself of these things but self centered liberals enrage me when they invoke special boy status for their objectively reprehensible sports captain who abso-fucking-lutey enjoys the fact that his interests are directly served by consigning millions to maiming and death in this way as if "gosh you know he tried so hard not to make this sacrifice but we all decided you should take one for the team" makes it NOT GENOCIDE
there are people who want me dead as a political goal who do not even understand that is what they wish for. i am so sick to death of living in the kingdom of death.
Yeah. Necropolitics sucks. Solidarity from a fellow "acceptable loss."
