An empty bottle. As memories fill this vessel, liquid is created. A full bottle represents a life which spans the vast spread of emotions and experiences enjoyed by people.
But what happens when the vessel is emptied, its contents taken elsewhere, and the bottle is returned to zero?
And what happens if the vessel is not refurbished thoroughly before it begins to fill anew...?
Luz Deluna (pronouns: they/them, it/its) is a type of robot called a "vottle". In the Astro City setting, this type of robot holds a fluid which represents and contains the self, memories and emotions and all. The body is soft and pliable, but as strong as glass; extremely difficult to harm or shatter. The bottle was once a container for someone else, a former human who decided to live longer by having their mind converted and poured into it. However, the remaining empty bottle gained awareness and sapience, becoming its own person. It had no memories of its own, no sense of self, not even a name, but it was clearly alive. All it had were flashes of a past life that didn't belong to them. Looking up at the full moon, they chose a name, and decided to seek out their former inhabitant, to get closure on the past that was not its own but which they unwillingly shared. Meanwhile, it itself is pursued by a certain curious streamer...
