do not be horny at me

i've been looking for an alternative to itunes for a while and earlier this year i finally actually bothered to make the effort of looking. once i found musicbee i never looked back. it's pretty customizable, though it can also be kind of a pain in the ass to use because... well, it does what you tell it to do, even if you tell it to do something that sucks and is bad. notice my album artwork is fucked up because i have it organizing stuff by folders i never actually bothered to sort album artwork into.

several songs from the band Queen are highlighted, with the submenu selections of Send To, Folder (Move), Move Files to Organized Folder

Speaking of organizing by folder, I think that's honestly probably it's biggest selling point. I was able to sort a massive, ~18 year old music collection this way. Basically, you can select a group of songs, like so...

a File Organizer submenu, set to send all selected songs to the subfolder "Queen," with the files renamed by track number, followed by title

Select a folder to send them to, as well as templating how you want them to be renamed and sorted...

a folder named "Queen" has been created, with each song neatly organized by album number

And voila! You can then set the program to automatically sort navigator groups by their folders, as I do, or sort them accordingly within the app itself.

It's not the most instantly user friendly program to use, but if you, like me, have been carting around a bloated music collection since you were twelve and wanna sort it while getting rid of the terrible videogame music you outgrew (while enshrining the terrible videogame music that you still think whips ass), idk, give it a shot
