I'm so sick of "AI" invading every single space I use.

I use a few different websites to make juggling projects more manageable. If you've been a student in the last few years you're probably aware of Canva. I have plenty of reservations about the website by itself, but it was mostly fine for slapping together quick slide decks. Well of course I log in today and it's suggesting MAGIC TEXT changes for everything. It's particularly jarring when I'm arranging a series of quotes by marginalised groups and the MAGIC TEXT offers to make a quote "more fun!" or "fix spelling!"

It's not enough to push the premium service with every image search (and the filter to only show free images works 5% of the time) but now they're also pushing "AI" generated images as well.

Just... I just want to be free. I'm so tired. Even Wordpress tries to offer "AI" text on its web-based editor. It's all optional and usually tied to some premium services, which makes ignoring this crap easier for me, and of course all of the course syllabi say "AI" assistance can't be used, but I worry about how many of my peers feel less repulsion towards these suggestions? I feel sorry for anyone who succumbs to the allure of "We'll do the work for you, it'll be our little secret."

Burn it all down.
