conceptually neat, but i don't really know enough to give opinions beyond that. but also, xkcd 927
it's funny to read that and realize it was written before USB-C became a thing (or enough of a thing to call it a "standard")
the catch of course is that USB-C is shaping up to have its own entertaining problem: instead of a thousand different plugs, all of them visibly incompatible with one another, we will have one plug whose functionality from one device to the next is anyone's guess
i had a shock discovering that USB-C is not guaranteed to support video output, and i bought two different USB-C docks for a family member's new laptop before i realized this was the case (though i had no trouble getting video output through a USB 3.0 dock)
