This is probably common but just to double check: do other people also remember 2-digit numbers via the TV channel they corresponded to when growing up?

My mental dialog: "the potatoes come out of the oven at 12:36 (MTV) and the bacon at 12:45 (Disney channel)"

If this is indeed common, then I'm worried that kids who grow up during the streaming age will never be able to remember when their food should come out of the oven 😞

I had cable sporadically as a kid and realized via a meme that appears to be designed to get you to reveal your zip code, I have no fucking clue what any of the channels I watched were numerically any more.

same, which feels kinda sad given how big a thing Disney Channel and Nickelodeon were in my formative years

i know our cable provider shuffled the numbers at least once but that's really all i can remember

i do remember being weirded out that a local station whose ident jingle proudly proclaimed it as "TV 20!" was channel 13, though
