Nya for me it's a matter of giving it more substance OwO
First, once the water's boiling, I add da meats. This can just be sammich chiken or turkey or ham, or whatever you got that's not already heavily flavored or conflicts too much with the ramen. Last night it was chorizo, so I intended it to be spicy to begin with, which works out ^w^ I give the meat about a minute or two to boil in the water on its own just to make sure it's heated through and lends some of its flavor to the water for the broth. If you wanna add some tougher veg in like bamboo shoots, this would also be the time I would add them to the broth.
Second, I put the ramen noodles in. I flip both sides to get them wet for the first minute, until the noodles are soft enough that I can open them up (if they're folded over, like most packaged ramen is) or the noodles are at least a little bit pliable for step three. The seasonings can be left until the very end, as I often used to do, but you can also add the seasoning at this point, too.
Third, once the noodles are softened in step two, I break an egg or two directly onto the noodles to let them sit above the surface =w= Kinda like an egg-drop but boiling the egg in the ramen itself. The egg is a good timer for me to determine how well done the ramen is, as once the egg is firm, the noodles are nice and soft without being mushy. I keep the heat on for two more minutes with the egg in.
Fourth, after two minutes of boiling the egg, I turn the heat off, but I flip the ramen over so that the egg is submerged to let it finish boiling under the surface. I then leave the ramen to sit in the pot until the water stops boiling on its own, stirring occasionally to see how well the egg or noodles are doing. If there's softer veg like green onion slices, they go in at this point to warm them up some.
Fifth, the whole thing goes in the bowl owo I'll also add a bit of extra sauce at this point (and the seasonings, if I didn't do that in the pot already). The sauces are usually stuff like a little splash of soy sauce, or a little drizzle of sesame seed oil is really good, too ^w^
Sixth, you eat da ramen owo Don't burn yourself, but also don't leave it too long or it'll get soggy noodles! ππ
