I'm not even Christian, but the "never do anything wrong rather than do something right" makes me think of that whole thing where Jesus talks about judging a tree by its fruit (that is, the results of actions, rather than purity)... and also Stephen Mitchell's empassioned translation of the Book of Job about how Job's initial righteousness is that sterile kind of avoidance of vice, rather than a true virtue or embrace of the world.

At some point, you just gotta ask, "But what does it DO??? Why does it MATTER?" and pay attention to the answer.
