Minute details and feelings when it comes to expectations. For are those of the extreme bouts of anxious overwhelming, are they terrifying notions within expectations of scared processes, or are they the more vague feeling of the unknown and outcome of a future action into nervousness?
Whilst this may seem obvious at first glance, it can differ between an awareness of what the emotion is and instinctive reacting without a clear reason as to why. Take for example anxious. This feeling can be categorized as a broad set of circumstances. Between a neurotypical level where there is a brief but noticeable spike of feelings and the uncertainty of what action has impacted for oneself or another. On a neurodivergant level, this might be amplified and noticeable to a point where nothing else can interrupt this mental thought process.
This brings to the point of finding the difference between what is a more conscious reaction with a similar environment versus a newer, more unconscious one based on newer changes. In the case of scared for example, you might have a lower level of actually being scared in a familiar situation. At times it may happen once in a blue moon, but how you are scared isn’t on a more extreme level. However, say going to a haunted house with other people. The levels of that particular emotion is heightened and more unconscious to an instinctual level. What is no longer familiar is more susceptible to a more extreme level of becoming highly scared and vulnerable.
On a different way, nervous does the opposite of what scared does. Nervous in general implies anticipation of a very specific event you don’t want to fail. Like a test for college, proficiency exams, speech, and how you anticipate what could happen. When faced with an unknown change, it becomes more like a quiet anxious feeling. You know to prepare for something, but it’s much more vague and difficult to consciously anticipate. Because you don’t have a clear experience or what the expectation results after you get through it. There are certainly different possibilities and notions you can guess. But it usually is different or less extreme than you realize. Unconsciously so to speak, you are preparing yourself for a new chapter or change which allows you to shed previous experiences and allow for something better to come.
Listen to how the body is reacting and understand whether you are actively knowing of the reason. Or if you are instinctually reacting as a result of certain circumstances changing around you.
