Even more plant lore from the Rafflesia Canon.

Here is the text from the post:

"The Yucca Pitaya is a fruit with a luxurious taste, grown from a plant that can only survive in a dry tropical climate. If it's too hot, too cold, too dry, too wet, targeted by pests such as insects or fungus, or just feels like it, the plant's response is to die. The Yucca Pitaya's extremely picky nature makes it an expensive and time-consuming endeavor to have the plant survive until it bears fruit.

When bearing fruit, the Pitayas will grow at the top of the tree. A rainstorm can flood the "nest", which will ruin the fruits. and likely kill the plant as well.

Despite the tree-like appearance of the plant, the Yucca Pitaya's plant is actually a cactus. The plant has no spines or thorns of any kind.

The Pitaya has a rich red color on the outside, with brilliant yellow tipped leaves. The "meat" inside of the fruit is a rich purple with only a few seeds inside of it. Most of these seeds are unable to even sprout, and have a lumpy shape."
