I started noticing it when people swore that they would ditch Netflix because it kept canceling all the progressive shows, followed by everybody insisting that they'll ditch Amazon Prime because of whatever the issue of the day was. One field of discourse after another has become "these big companies are terrible. Also, I need a billionaire to tell me what I like"...
people really underestimate how thoroughly people are condition to trust Brands™ over anything else.
