i believe that... my writing... goes on...

  • the cops that killed Tortuguita won't face any charges whatsoever because the shooting was "objectively reasonable," according to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation. in case you weren't quite certain whether we were still living in a police state.

  • the Notorious ADF has been up to some nonsense, according to a WaPo investigation: helping its U.S. clients establish wedding-vendor businesses, then filing lawsuits alleging those "business owners of faith" are having their rights infringed. that's how we got this year's disastrous 303 Creative v Elenis Supreme Court decision that found businesses can discriminate against customers for religious reasons.

  • at least 11 schools who were featured on Chaya Raichik's Libs of TikTok in September received bomb threats within a week of Raichik targeting them on her platforms. Raichik, of course, denies that she and her followers bear any responsibility for the threats. don't you love it when people Just Ask Questions?

  • speaking of conservatives trying to ruin education, Alabama dumped at least $16,500 worth of new training manuals in the trash because Republicans told the governor it was too woke. it's okay though, because schools are notoriously overfunded!

  • Nobody signed up for the new "open category" at the Swimming World Cup, which was created specifically to house the precisely zero transgender people swimming at the elite international level after World Aquatics passed a new slate of restrictions on trans and intersex athletes last year. in the course of my reporting, I also found that even if there had been anyone interested, they may have had as little as nine days to submit their application.

  • If there are any jocks on Cohost, good news! Two new WNBA teams are coming in 2025, with one officially confirmed for the San Francisco Bay Area at a press conference Thursday. We don't know where the second one will be, but rumors say Portland, which would seem to indicate the WNBA is finally leaning all the way into its extremely (and deservedly) lesbian reputation.

thanks for reading tgirl journalism!
