- open videos in a new private window with your adblocker still running. apparently YT has tied this to people's individual accounts so browsing while signed out should be unaffected.
- paste this code into your adblocker's filter section, which I cribbed from Reddit user u/0321Reddit:
youtube.com##+js(set, yt.config_.openPopupConfig.supportedPopups.adBlockMessageViewModel, false)
youtube.com##+js(set, Object.prototype.adBlocksFound, 0)
youtube.com##+js(set, ytplayer.config.args.raw_player_response.adPlacements, [])
youtube.com##+js(set, Object.prototype.hasAllowedInstreamAd, true)
Both of these have worked for me, I hope they work for you!
EDIT: unfortunately this script may not work after all. it appeared to be working for me for the past day but YT vids don't play now sometimes; it seems like it might only circumvent the popup rather than the whole process.
