i use a pair of God Hands that i recieved as a birthday present from a good friend for snipping plastic and most resin, but i also keep a pair of cheap Beadalon (Michaels generic brand) nippers for pewter and thick resin cuts. I do this because I broke my gifted God Hands trying to snip pewter and had to replace them out of a sorrowful sense of shame because of how good they are for everything else.
Investing in your tools is always a good idea and anyone telling you otherwise is a doink.
