This sequel to 1959's "The Goofy Robot" finds the wunderkind from the first movie (Jody Smorin), now a junior professor, trying to use his robot-building skills to protect his university from an evil real-estate developer while simultaneously trying to protect his own robot inventions from theft by a Russian spy. G-Rated, effervescent fun. The sequence where the evil developer, the clumsy spy, and the robot teenager Jimmy (the titular Goofy Robot), all disguised as Santa Claus, attempt to avoid detection and one another while convincing a precocious child not to raise an alarm is a classic bit of farce, but the rest of the movie isn't as good as you remember it.
