27. Custodian’s Chamber
Iron doors, unlocked. Inside, a large room with a tall ceiling. A red light pulses from above. Dangling above the central platform, a bulbous, mechanical figure is suspended by a dozen metallic tendrils, grappled to the rafters.
The Custodian: A mechanical monster, large and imposing. Squid-like. It will crawl upon the walls and ceiling, and strike from shadows. Experimental, the latest in sewer maintenance technology. Intruders will be cleansed.
To the west, a large control panel flickers with minimal enthusiasm. Upon inspection, broken floor tiles reveal cable conduits that connect to the central platform.
