so someone mentioned that they use the opera gx gaming™ browser and they said it had something called mods. i suspected they were just extensions, and my suspicions were confirmed when i looked at a mod's store page and noticed an entry in a json object named crxId which looked promising, but where was the actual crx downloaded from? lots of other extension stores have that documented by various people, but i couldn't find anything for opera gx and the normal opera url didn't work. so. i installed the opera gx gaming™ browser. and it turns out the url is https://api.gx.me/store/mods/crxId/install! so if you want to download an opera gx mod to extract the assets or whatever you:

- view source
- Ctrl+F for
crxId - copy the value after it (it'll look like
njkehakoklkbjjfbknolmpbmhfcidibk) - go to
https://api.gx.me/store/mods/your_crxId/installin a non-chromium browser - unzip the file or whatever you wanted to do with it
