I got on a pre-arranged voice call with a friend to force myself to draw and she suggested we do dragons. Getting out of my comfort zone actually turned out to be really invigorating! obviously it's far from perfect but I think it represents the current peak of my abilities. I'm more just stoked to have "finished" something which I never do. miscellany under the cut

obviously I pulled in a lot of human anatomy but I think a lot of the inspiration for the pose was a sphinx vibe. I fucking love sphinxes. I never had any clue what was going on with the wings but I was so happy with the cheeky little twist at the tip of the tail that I didn't want to cover it up. the rear paws are roughly a dog because I see my dog everyday. i think my mind just unconsciously went to charizard for the head.

i also really love the head i started out with on the top left, she looks so sweet! every couple of years, ill draw a one-off furry head for one reason or another like i did here. i love looking at furry art, and from those isolated instances, it's extremely obvious i would really enjoy making it to. i don't know why i never do
