on a hot day like today, my walk has to be late in the evening.

sky at sunset. it's mostly clear but a bit hazy and there are small clouds scattered all over. also featuring trees and distant power lines.

old dry canola plant with translucent seed pod remains against the sunset

the mostly dry wildflower field with the post sunset sky. there's a massive peach coloured cloud and some smaller ones, also thistle plants and dark trees.

the air is warm and fragrant with hard to describe field scents. sounds of crickets are everywhere, and field mice are rustling through the grass. birds are having opinions. I walk very slowly.

clouds in pinkish sunset afterglow over the dry wildflower field

the sky over deer hill with the one big tree, just after sunset. sparse glowy clouds. in the foreground is the harvested wheat field.

of course, I did not bring the zoom camera. so this is the quality of fox pic that happens with my phone cam. I also saw deer and a hare.

a barely visible fox standing on the wheat stubble field underneath the orange post sunset sky and distant powerlines.

the non-path between the stream and the wheat stubble field, post sunset. to the left is a line of trees along the stream, to the right is deer hill. there are some fluffy thistle plants on the side of the field.

the sky over deer hill a bit further past sunset, with small pinkish clouds and a far away raptor flying over it

I stayed out until I could barely see the ground anymore and the rustling sounds of small animals started sounding like those of bigger animals.
