i think you would have to step out of time to "defeat" god
but i also think there is no god, just idiots stepping out of time to where you can see all of time spread out like a delicate flower, so they go mess around with it a little, and before long they realize they have just folded up the universe back into a single point and not knowing what else to do, they let it go bang again and again... and again... before eventually they lose all sense of self.
