You and I seem to have come to the same conclusions about how to encourage interesting art. Knowing a lot of writers/artists/performers who work in everything from children's media to hardcore porn, these are discussions that happen a lot, and "fuck the corpos dumbing everything down for profit" is a running theme regardless of medium it seems. Was reminded of that ' Everyone Is Beautiful and No One Is Horny ' article from a little while ago.
that article has become SUCH an important reference point for me!!! and yeah, i'm friends with a bunch of queer artists of all walks and this is the common thread for us: we're all fucking broke!
