through the lens of a question i got on tumblr about my homestuck fanfiction godfeels. swallow your "i don't go to homestuck" pride and give it a read please anyway, it took four hours to write and i think makes some pretty salient points. fanfiction is art worth talking about, even (and perhaps especially) when it is problematic and/or cringe. but then again what do i know i'm literally just a goat

a good post sarah. to add, it feels like the most homestuck thing possible to look back at your messy start point and then talk about/through it, especially in the series itself. That recursive dialogue with itself is why i fell into loving homestuck stuff to this day, and very why i fell down the hole of reading Wildbow's webserials, and serial writings more and more. Being able to see change and consideration shift over time, and the feeling of an author going "well shit why did i do that? what does it mean that i did that? how do i feel that i did that? shitfuck what do the /characters/ feel about having done that??"
I fell off Godfeels shortly after that (very very good) terezi and june bonus scene (or wait maybe the rose, kanaya, june, terezi bonus scene now that i think on it.....) but its constantly one of the series that lives in the back of my head as a "i should go back to that".
