OK so your basics are: Movement Gym (formerly Planet Granite), Portland Rock Gym (most people call it PRG) and Circuit, which has a number of different locations. About me: Climbing since 2013, mostly sport rope but I started on bouldering and I still love to boulder. I am bisexual but I am cis and not visibly anything so harassment isn't a big factor for me.
Movement: probably the most upscale of them. Combination of sport rope and bouldering with some machines and yoga spaces. Great facility across the board but I think it's still the most expensive if that matters. Clientele reflects the general population of Portland, OR which means it's fairly gay. I've attended gay-specific climbing events there. This gym is located in the Pearl district which automatically adds +2 gay.
Circuit: unless anything has changed in the last few years this place has only bouldering and a few weight sets. Very good bouldering, probably the most variety out of all three, but not all the locations are air-conditioned which could be a minus. Probably the least expensive. I have no read on the gayness but this is more of a "hardcore" bouldering gym so it probably reflects the demographics of the sport more than the city. This is where I learned to climb and I am fond of it. Historically I think this is where you would find more of your dirtbags (affectionate). Located not far out of downtown in kind of a generic hangout area.
PRG: Located very close to Circuit. Traditionally a sport rope place but a few years ago they added a lot more bouldering options. That helped, but I don't really care for the bouldering here personally. A fun energy here, I've taught a lot of people to climb top rope at the 12th ave location. Based on location and clientele, I think this lies somewhere between Movement and Circuit on gayness.
All these places have codes of conduct and the staff will be, if not openly gay, at least openly allied. Pretty sure Movement still has a big pride flag out front. I'd be pretty surprised if a visibly queer person got harassed at any of these places, as I've seen many openly queer/trans people at all the locations I just described. Still, I know it's a fact of life so if that matters to you, I think Movement probably rates highest on queer-friendliness in a close race.
p.s. I am the friend of @wavebeem :)

Thank you SO SO much, this is really really helpful!!! Seems like Movement is probably a good place to start looking. We have one in Denver but I've never been, so it'll be good to scope out no matter what!
